We have a diverse range of staff with expertise in various “fields”. They come from different backgrounds and geographical locations. Our staff at McCrae & McCrae Ltd are outgoing and lively both in terms of business and being sociable.
Rod McCrae (BLE, MRICS) Managing Director
 Rod, along with his father Ewan, founded McCrae & McCrae 24 years ago. The firm has recently been converted into a Limited Company. Rod previously worked for United Auctions but in 1985 decided to set up his own company. Rod oversees the overall running of McCrae & McCrae Ltd, whilst also conducting surveys & valuations, negotiating development option agreements, carrying out compensation work and marketing farms, country houses, farm steading conversions and newbuild plots. He started “Property Search” two years ago to act on behalf of purchasers looking for property. There are over 300 properties on this “off the market”.
Rod played for Dunfermline, Perthshire and Edinburgh Accies Rugby Clubs, and representing North and Midlands Senior District Side.
Rod lives at Crammond, on the edge of Edinburgh.
Keir Doe (BLE (Hons), MRTPI) Director
 Keir joined the firm on a full time basis in 2004 although worked part time at McCrae & McCrae for the previous 5 years during which time he studied Land Economy at Aberdeen University. He secured a 2.1 joint honours degree in Rural Surveying and Planning. Subsequently he has qualified as a Chartered Town Planner. Keir specialises in Planning Development, Farm & House Sales, option agreements and compensation claims. He operated out of the Perth and Dunfermline offices
Keir is currently living in Perth and plays rugby for Perthshire 1st XV and cricket for the acclaimed Rossie Priory Reserve XI. Other interests include golfing (member at Blairgowrie), shooting and fishing.
Lorna Kennedy, Director
Lorna is McCrae & McCrae Ltd’s consultant solicitor. She trained at Aberdeen University and has spent most of her career practising law in Edinburgh.
Adele Ellis (Associate, Property and Office Manager)
 Adele joined McCrae and McCrae 6 years ago. She heads the Estate Agent Department and is responsible for directing the sales of houses, development sites and farms from inspection to conclusion as well as handling house rentals.
Adele currently lives in Auchtermuchty and is a keen horse rider.
 Lawson Doe (HND Agric)
Lawson specialises in compensation claims, land rentals, steading development and the marketing of wind turbines and log cabins . He has farmed at Errol for many years (where he lives). He is currently president of Perthshire Rugby Club having been, like Rod, a past captain.
Lawson is Keir’s father thus completing a family double at McCrae & McCrae Ltd.
Callum Robertson
Callum is enjoying his second stint at working at McCrae & McCrae. He works 3 days a week and is specialising in wind turbines, planning applications and sales, property sales and compensation claims.
Mark Thomson (Agricultural Consultant)
 Mark joined our company 6 years ago. He deals with compensation claims, wind turbines and agricultural matters within the company on a part time basis, as well as running the family farm with his parents at Tillyrie, near Kinross. He is a keen rugby player and has returned to play for Kinross RFC after playing at a high standard for Edinburgh Wanderers, Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy and North & Midlands Senior District.
Evelyn Keddie (Accounts & Admin)
 Evelyn has been with the company for 13 years and is responsible for the company’s accounts and admin.
She is an enthusiastic hill walker and can often be found walking in the Scottish hills. Other interests include badminton and travelling the world.
 Joanna Whitfield (Secretary)
Joanna has recently joined McCrae & McCrae and is responsible for all our secretarial requirements, and is the friendly and helpful voice at the end of the telephone.
Joanna lives with her family near Dunfermline and is a keen equestrian enthusiast. |
